This home is in Lindstrom, Minnesota.  It's one of several frames we've based on the 3rd gable bumpout design. This one features 2 gable dormers on the back side.  Here's a sample floor plan for a frame like this one.  We'll post more photos as the finishing contractors complete their work.   These photos were taken during the raising. 

 

I really didn’t know what I was getting into when I decided to build our house and act as the general contractor. I was fortunate to have worked with Clark and his crew at Northern Lights Timber Framing and could not recommend them more highly.

Through the building process, I worked with around 15 contractors. Something I picked up on rather quickly was that there is a vast range in the degree of professionalism, integrity, and craftsmanship when working with a contractor. Clark was helpful with advice from the beginning design stages, while the timber frame was being carved off-site, and until the job was done. After a contract price was negotiated, I found out building code required dormers in the loft level bedrooms. Clark helped me resolve the issue, working with the home designer and the SIP contractor, and kept the same contract price. Once it was time to erect the frame, they showed up when they said they would and they completed the project on schedule and on budget. I was very happy with my experience with Northern Lights Timber Framing and, most importantly, I am very happy with the way my home turned out.
